Welcome to Kent P&R′s home on the web!

    Welcome to the Kent CT Park and Recreation website. This is an official website of the Kent Park and Recreation Commission, the volunteer commission charged with oversight of the town’s recreational programs. Kent Park and Recreation develops and oversees comprehensive year-round offerings, including youth sports and camps as well as classes, outings and events for community members of all ages.
    Information about Park and Recreation programs is available by clicking the “Programs” tab to the left. Answers to general questions are available by clicking “Frequently Asked Questions” tab on the left. Parents and players will find detailed information about specific sports teams by selecting the “Sports” menu above. Seniors can access information about programs designed specifically for them by choosing the “Seniors” menu at top.
    The website also contains registration forms, links to other community and regional groups as well as contact information for Kent CT Park and Recreation. Per Connecticut General Statute 19a-77, Kent Park and Recreation is required to disclose that our services and programs are not licensed by the State Office of Early Childhood.

Mets-Dodgers Baseball Game

Warren Parks & Recreation has seats available for an August 5 trip to Citi Field to watch the New York Mets take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at 4:05 p.m. Cost is $95/person and includes game ticket in section 335 (under an overhang), motor coach transportation, driver gratuity, snack bag and a few surprises. Swim Lessons

Kent Park and Recreation will offer learn-to-swim program at Emery Park, 42 Segar Mountain Road, in two sessions: July 10-21 and August 1-10, 2017. The following programs will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: level 1 at 11 a.m.; level 2 at 11:45 a.m. and levels 3/4 at 2 p.m. Lessons are 30 minutes. A park pass is required and can be purchased at the park. Register in the Park and Recreation office, Town Hall, or with the Emery Park lifeguards at the park. Summer Concert Series

Kent Park and Recreation will sponsor the free Concerts on the Lawn Thursday evenings, 6-8 p.m. on the lawn outside Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard: July 20: Carlson Family Band; July 27: Heather and Tobias; August 3: The Joint Chiefs. Bring a picnic dinner and a chair or blanket. For more information, call 860-927-1003.

Emery Park Swimming Hours

Emery Park swimming area, 42 Segar Mountain Road, is open for swimming daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A park pass is required to swim and can be purchased at the park from the lifeguards during these hours. Please note the swimming area will close for inclement weather and when thunder is in the area.

Camp Kent registration

Registration for Camp Kent, Park and Recreation's summer day camp program, is accepted via email to parkandrec@townofkentct.org or by phone, 860-927-1003. Camp, open to youngsters entering grades 1 through 8 in the fall, will run weekly through August 18, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Emery Park, 42 Segar Mountain Road. A general information flyer, registration form, camp information sheet, daily "themes" sheet and Club Getaway waiver form are available on the website under "Forms."

Qigong Class

The summer session of Qigong Class will be offered in collaboration with Kent Park and Recreation Wednesday mornings 9 to 10:30 at the Kent Community House: July 5, 12, 19 and August 2, 9 and 16, 2017. The cost is $100 for six classes or $20/class. Qigong is a classical method of self-healing rooted in the longevity tradition of old China. No experience necessary. Drop-in participation also is welcome. Registration accepted at class. For more information, contact instructor Christopher Kiely at or call 802-349-2725.

Playing Fields

The rules for the Playing Fields adjacent Kent Center School state that dogs are not allowed on the fields, and playing golf is prohibited on the fields. Kent Park and Rec appreciates your observance of these rules when using the fields.
