    Welcome to the Kent CT Park and Recreation website. This is an official website of the Kent Park and Recreation Commission, the volunteer commission charged with oversight of the town’s recreational programs. Kent Park and Recreation develops and oversees comprehensive year-round offerings, including youth sports and camps as well as classes, outings and events for community members of all ages.
    Information about Park and Recreation programs is available by clicking the “Programs” tab to the left. Answers to general questions are available by clicking “Frequently Asked Questions” tab on the left. Parents and players will find detailed information about specific sports teams by selecting the “Sports” menu above. Seniors can access information about programs designed specifically for them by choosing the “Seniors” menu at top.

    Park and Recreation offers scholarships, funded by the Kent Community Fund, for its After-School and Camp Kent programs. Application available by speaking with the Park and Recreation director, 860-927-1003.
    The website also contains registration forms, links to other community and regional groups as well as contact information for Kent CT Park and Recreation. Per Connecticut General Statute 19a-77, Kent Park and Recreation is required to disclose that our services and programs are not licensed by the State Office of Early Childhood.

Slamma-Jamma Basketball Camp

Kent Park and Recreation announces Slamma-Jamma Basketball summer camp July 23-27 for boys and girls entering grades 3 through 9. Camp will meet Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kent (location to be confirmed). Cost is $165/camper. Register online with Slamma Jamma at slamma-jamma.net. Spring Baseball Registration

Park and Recreation is accepting registration for spring baseball programs for kindergarten, first grade, Farm team (second and third grades) and Little League, ages 9-12 as of April 30, 2018 - Major and Minor league teams. Commission alternate

Kent Park and Recreation has an opening for a commission alternate. The commission meets the third Monday of the month (mostly), 7 p.m., Kent Town Hall. The commission is charged with oversight of the town's recreational programs and two parks. Winter Ice Skating

Kent Park and Recreation in cooperation with South Kent School announces winter ice skating at the South Kent School rink, 40 Bull's Bridge Road as follows: open skate: February 11: 2:30-4:30 p.m.; February 18: 2:30-4:30 p.m.; and February 25 and March 4: 2-4 p.m. NEW: RINK WILL BE CLOSING IN MARCH; NO ICE SKATING AFTER MARCH 4. Skaters must wear hat and skates on the ice. A park pass is required and can be purchased at the rink during skating hours; $35/Kent residents; $65/non residents for season pass; $5/person/day. Tai Chi Chuan Classes

Traditional Tung Family Style Tai Chi Chuan classes, taught by Christopher Kiely, are offered in collaboration with Kent Park and Recreation Tuesday evenings, 6-7:30, at the Kent Community House, North  Main Street. Figure Skating Lessons

Kent Park and Recreation will offer figure skating lessons for boys and girls, ages 6 and up, 7-8 a.m., at Kent School ice rink this winter. Session three with Marika Coolbeth is February 3, 10, 17, 24. Cost is $44/session. Registration flyer available on the website under "Forms."

After-School Program 2017-18

Kent Park and Recreation's After-School Program is open to Kent Center School kindergarten through sixth graders and meets Monday-Friday, 3-5:30 p.m. in the KCS cafeteria, following the KCS calendar. The program handbook and registration forms are available on the website under "Forms."  Youngsters must be registered in order to participate in the program. Scholarship assistance is available to families in need by (confidential) application. Scholarships are provided by the Kent Community Fund. For more information, call 860-927-1003.

Qigong Class

Qigong Class will be offered in collaboration with Kent Park and Recreation Wednesday mornings 9 to 10:30 at the Kent Community House: February 7 through April 25, 2018. The cost is $200 for the 3 months or $80/month or $25/class. Qigong is a classical method of self-healing rooted in the longevity tradition of old China. No experience necessary. Playing Fields

The rules for the Playing Fields adjacent Kent Center School state that dogs are not allowed on the fields, and playing golf is prohibited on the fields. Kent Park and Rec appreciates your observance of these rules when using the fields.
