Welcome to Kent P&R′s home on the web!

    Welcome to the Kent CT Park and Recreation website. This is an official website of the Kent Park and Recreation Commission, the volunteer commission charged with oversight of the town’s recreational programs. Kent Park and Recreation develops and oversees comprehensive year-round offerings, including youth sports and camps as well as classes, outings and events for community members of all ages.
    Information about Park and Recreation programs is available by clicking the “Programs” tab to the left. Answers to general questions are available by clicking “Frequently Asked Questions” tab on the left. Parents and players will find detailed information about specific sports teams by selecting the “Sports” menu above. Seniors can access information about programs designed specifically for them by choosing the “Seniors” menu at top.
    The website also contains registration forms, links to other community and regional groups as well as contact information for Kent CT Park and Recreation. Per Connecticut General Statute 19a-77, Kent Park and Recreation is required to disclose that our services and programs are not licensed by the State Office of Early Childhood.

Emery Park Swimming Hours

Emery Park swimming area, 42 Segar Mountain Road, is scheduled to open for the season June 20 and be open daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A park pass is required to swim and can be purchased at the park from the lifeguards during these hours. Please note the swimming area will close for inclement weather and when thunder is in the area.

Emery Park Open House

Kent Park and Recreation will host an open house June 30, 4-6 p.m. at Emery Park, 42 Segar Mountain Road, Kent to showcase recent improvements to the park (see event flyer on the website under "Forms." The event will include a free BBQ dinner, opportunity to meet the seasonal lifeguards and music by Heather and Tobias. Season park passes will be on sale at a $10 savings June 30 at the park: $25 for Kent residents; $55 for non-residents and no cost to Kent seniors ages 65 and up. Qigong Class

Qigong Class, an introductory course, will be offered in collaboration with Kent Park and Recreation Wednesday mornings 9 to 10:30 at the Kent Community House. Qigong is a classical method of self-healing rooted in the longevity tradition of old China. No experience necessary. Detailed flyer available on the website under "Forms." Slamma-Jamma Basketball Camps

Coach Art Leary's Slamma-Jamma Basketball Camp returns to Kent at Kent School gym for summer 2017:

July 31-August 4: boys and girls grades K-3 meet from 9 a.m. to noon; cost $135; grades 4-9 meeting 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., cost $185. Registration form available at slamma-jamma.com and in the Park and Recreation office, Town Hall. Register with Slamma-Jamma.

PLEASE NOTE THE JUNE SESSION WILL NOT MEET DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Playing Fields

The rules for the Playing Fields adjacent Kent Center School state that dogs are not allowed on the fields, and playing golf is prohibited on the fields. Kent Park and Rec appreciates your observance of these rules when using the fields.
