Adult Programs

Adult Men's Basketball - program meets in the winter months Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Kent Center School gym. The 2017-18 program dates will be announced. No cost. Participants must register; forms available at the gym.
 

Beginning dog obedience class - The class, open to any age dog and led by Lee Sohl, will meets for eight weeks at a cost of $80; new class will start May 31 and meet from 6 to 7 p.m. at Kent Common Park, Swifts Lane. Participants should attend the first class without their dogs. Martial Arts Class for ages 7 through adult meets Mondays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Kent Community House, North Main Street. The program is ongoing with a new session beginning October 17. The class is sponsored by USA Martial Arts of Woodbury, a member of the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Karate Federation. Registration fee is $70/10-week session. Martial arts training has been shown to reduce stress, increase confidence, self-discipline, focus and respect in addition to the self-defense benefits. Registration form available under "Forms." Registration can be returned to the Park and Recreation office, Town Hall, or brought to the first class.

 

Qigong Class, an introductory course, will be offered Wednesdays, starting May 10, 9-10:30 a.m. at the Kent Community House. The eight-week course will run through June 14 at a cost of $120. Qigong is a classical method of self-healing rooted in the longevity tradition of old China.
